Join me on Thursday, December 5 at 2:30 pm ET for a conversation with Rev.
, Tara Barnes, and Rev. about this (not entirely) new social network. Is Bluesky the reincarnation of Twitter? Why should faith leaders start an account and engage with this platform? What does this online space say about the future of the internet and digital ministry? Those are just some of the questions they will be tossing around in this conversation. Register to attend the live webinar and receive a link to watch the recording.
(And yes, you should follow all four of us on Bluesky: me, Bruce, Tara, Nathan.)
Wait, who exactly will be on this webinar?!
Rev. Jim Keat is the Minister of Digital Worship & Education at The Riverside Church and the Director of Online Innovation at Convergence. He is the producer of online projects like Bible in a Minute, The Word Made Fresh, Be Still and Go, and more. He is committed to helping progressive faith leaders and communities intentionally engage in digital spaces, creating online content and cultivating online community.
Rev. Bruce Reyes Chow is an active speaker, writer, and coachsultant on topics of faith, leadership, culture, race, and technology. He once started the First Church of Twitter and currently writes regularly on Substack. (You should all subscribe.)
Tara Barnes is the director of denominational relations for United Women in Faith, the official women's organization of The United Methodist Church and the largest faith-based denominational organization for women in the United States.
Rev. Nathan Webb is a major nerd in just about every way. He loves video games, anime, cartoons, comic books, tech, and his fellow nerds. Hoping to provide a spiritual community for people with similar interests, he founded Checkpoint Church--"the church for nerds, geeks and gamers."
